Deep learning for wide-angle images

Description

This project aims at adapting deep neural networks to the case of wide-angle images, where distortions created by lenses are very strong. We will study the use of techniques based on graphs and apply them to segmentation and depth estimation from wide-angle images to improve autonomous navigation.

Prof. Lalonde has established a research group in visual computing and artificial intelligence that has garnered international recognition. He and his group regularly publish in top vision and graphics venues (CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, SIGGRAPH, etc.), and collaborate with researchers in companies and universities in Canada and around the world.
