Research project

Inferring parameters in non linear systems of ordinary differential equations

Description

We wish to develop an automated and objective methodology to determined parameters in nonlinear systems of differential equations describing neural cell swelling. This will be applied to experimental data in order to determine biophysical properties of cell swelling. For a PhD project, we will also explore the experimental design, that is determining the experimental protocol that optimizes the expected information gain.

Research Field

- Ordinary differential equations
- Model calibration,
- Parameter identification
- Optimization
- Cell swelling
- Entropy
- High dimension systems
- Intelligent experimental design

Research Supervisor
