Research project

Anxiety and depressive disorders in pregnancy and postpartum in Quebec: a restrospective cohort study

Description

The project is a retrospective cohort study of individuals who gave birth in Quebec between 2013 and 2023, based on administrative data maintained by the Institut de la statistique du Québec. The study aims to determine the frequency of perinatal anxiety and depressive disorders in Quebec and the patterns of use of health services and associated pharmacological treatments during the preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum periods (up to one year postpartum). It also aims to identify the populations most vulnerable to anxiety and depressive disorders and to better understand the relationship between perinatal anxiety and depressive disorders, service use, and maternal and neonatal health outcomes.
